Established in 2018, the California Association of Air Medical Services is a chapter of AAMS, the Association of Air Medical Services, an international association which serves providers of air and surface medical transport systems.

Mission

To provide a forum for the providers involved with the air medical industry. Our goal is to promote the highest level of industry safety and commitment to delivering excellence in clinical care while transporting the critically ill or injured.

Vision

AAMS represents a unified voice for the entire air medical and critical care medical transport community. Through common effort, we will improve the health outcomes of the populations we serve.

About CALSTAR

Since 1984, CALSTAR has provided life-saving air medical transport for more than 60,000 critically injured or ill patients. Flight crews respond 24/7 to emergency scene calls and hospital-to-hospital transport requests from helicopter bases located in Concord, Gilroy, Modesto, Merced, Salinas, Santa Maria, Ukiah, Auburn and South Lake Tahoe, CA.

CALSTAR also operates a rotor wing inter-facility service based in Oakland, CA for transports of neonatal, pediatric and high-risk OB patients to UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay.

CALSTAR’s fixed wing program provides long-range critical care transport services throughout California and beyond, utilizing a King Air B200 airplanes which are specifically configured for hospital-to-hospital transfers of cardiac, neurological, pediatric, neonatal and high-risk OB patients.
