REACH Air Medical Services
A Global Medical Response Solution
Established in 2018, the California Association of Air Medical Services is a chapter of AAMS, the Association of Air Medical Services, an international association which serves providers of air and surface medical transport systems.
To provide a forum for the providers involved with the air medical industry. Our goal is to promote the highest level of industry safety and commitment to delivering excellence in clinical care while transporting the critically ill or injured.
AAMS represents a unified voice for the entire air medical and critical care medical transport community. Through common effort, we will improve the health outcomes of the populations we serve.
“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” This statement is certainly true when it comes to REACH Air Medical Services. Our mission mandates that we “always do what is right for the patient”, which includes continually seeking ways to improve and expand our services...
- Dr. John L. McDonald
For programs where we partner with hospitals, we strive to demonstrate our deep appreciation by providing them with solutions that serve their visions, align with their missions and carry their names to their patients. And we never take these allies for granted. We know the enormous amount of trust required for one company to partner with another. Their collaboration is invaluable as it significantly increases the number of critical care patients served in local communities.
REACH AIR MEDICAL SERVICES - A GLOBAL MEDICAL RESPONSE SOLUTION
A Family of Companies
An outstanding example of success in this endeavor is our family of unrivaled air and ground transport programs—REACH, Cal-Ore Life Flight, Methodist AirCare, Woman’s AirCare, Upland Fire, and CareConnect.
Based on a passion for medicine and the guiding principle “in every situation, do what is right for the patient,” Dr. John L. McDonald founded REACH Air Medical Services in 1987. REACH has grown from one air ambulance base in Northern California to more than 30 bases across the Western United States. We respond to 911 emergency scene calls and hospital transfer requests with a fleet of medically-equipped helicopters, airplanes and ground ambulances. All our bases are staffed 24/7 to provide exceptional patient care and transport services to the communities we serve. To date, REACH has successfully transported more than 100,000 patients to needed care.
